Trauma & PTSD Therapy in Chicagoland
Trauma can come from a single frightening event or from years of hard experiences. It often shows up later as anxiety, trouble sleeping, feeling on edge, pulling away from people, or feeling stuck. Unbroken Family Counseling helps children, teens and adults work through trauma in Geneva, Plainfield, Downers Grove and Evanston, and through HIPAA-compliant telehealth anywhere in Illinois.
Our therapists go at your pace and focus on safety, trust and practical coping skills. Several of our clinicians list trauma and PTSD as a focus, and some offer trauma-focused approaches such as EMDR. Sessions are by appointment, and we accept most major insurance plans (including BCBS, Cigna, Aetna, United Healthcare/Optum, Tricare and Medicare; no HMOs). We also offer a self-pay rate.

Common questions
Do you offer EMDR for trauma?
Yes. Some of our clinicians list EMDR among their approaches. Mention it when you call or register and we'll match you.
Can I do trauma therapy online?
Yes. All of our clinicians offer HIPAA-compliant telehealth that you can use on a phone, computer or tablet. We recommend checking that your insurance covers telehealth.
Do you have a waitlist?
The practice has no waitlist, though individual clinicians may have one, so we'll match you with someone who has openings.
